The Process

Palletworks enhances wood pallets, the process ensures they are:

Dried so surface moisture content is 8% or less to standardise weight and quality.

Machined to within 2mm dimensional tolerance.

Embedded with an RFID tag, making them trackable and traceable.

Encapsulated in an elastomeric material using proprietary systems. This material is waterproof, non-slip, flame retardant and with high impact resistance and high tear strength. It prevents splinters and nail protrusion and removes the need for methyl bromide or any heat treatments for ISPM.

  • Less contamination: our process kills and prevents microbes, spores and bacteria in the wood and the encapsulant ensures a reduction in future surface contamination.
  • Efficient to use: standardised weight for any specification, so your customers can maximise loads and/or use less fuel.
  • Cost effective: cost less than reusable plastic pallets.
  • Flame retardant: have an improved fire rating over both wood pallets and plastic pallets.
  • Safe: have an improved fire rating over both wood pallets and plastic pallets.
  • Trackable: embedded with RFID tags, so they and any goods on them can be tracked and traced.
  • Environmentally friendly: and uses renewable resources. Pallets processed by Palletworks use wood and on average 3.5kg of elastomer whereas a multi trip plastic pallet uses 25kg plastic and a lightweight plastic pallet 11kg.
  • Repairable: repaired pallets can be reprocessed by Palletworks.
